Dock Lifts are typically used to load or unload trucks from the truck bed to ground level. One of the main advantages of a dock lift is its ability to service a very wide range of trucks/trailers. The majority of dock lifts are installed into a recessed pit however not all applications can accommodate a recessed pit. Surface-installed dock lifts are the alternative, they are typically installed on a poured concrete pad. Pentalift offers two series of surface installed dock lifts the VCD Series and the LPE Series
The VCD Series Dock Lift is a cost-effective solution that permits traffic flow across both ends of the platform when loading or unloading a truck. The VCD dock lift is available with a platform size of 6’ wide x 8’ long in either a 5,000 lb. or 6,000 lb. lifting capacity. The 5.25” low height minimizes the percentage of approach ramp incline as pallet trucks or carts are pushed on or off the dock lift platform. The LPE Series Dock Lift is an expanded product line of surface-installed dock lifts. The LPE series platform sizes are available ranging from 5’, 6’, 7’ and 8’ wide X 8’ or 10’ long. To address the varying application requirements this line of dock lifts is available in 4,000 lb., 5,000 lb., 6,000 lb. and 8,000 lb. lifting capacity. The 5.75” low height provides an acceptable percentage of approach ramp incline as pallet trucks, power drive pallet trucks or carts are moved on or off the dock lift platform. In addition, this series of surface installed dock lifts has no above platform obstructions allowing full use of the platform available and can be configured to permit sideloading in the lowered position.
