A meat processor with on-site blast freeze capabilities investigated alternative loading dock equipment as an upgrade to their frozen food warehouse. Their objective was safety at the loading dock area, energy conservation, improved building aesthetics and reliable long term operational equipment. The Pentalift UHR40 vehicle restraint provided the ultimate safety during vehicle loading, minimal maintenance and a visually pleasing exterior. The design of the vertical storing dock levelers minimized any energy losses as the overhead door seals more effectively than with conventional pit style dock levelers. The inflatable truck shelters provide the most effective seal along the sides and top of the trailer minimizing energy loss during the loading operation. All components were interlocked to force a procedural process that further promotes the objectives of safety and energy conservation at this loading dock area.
