Globally know manufacturer of off road construction equipment required two 25,000 hydraulic upenders complete with two work access lifts. Installed in a foundry application this integrated system is designed to provide access to the components being positioned on the upender. The crane operator is located on the work access lift platform, as the individual sections are placed on the upender the lift raises providing the crane operator clear view of the next step of the process. Once fully loaded the individual sections are bolted together, the upender lowers 90 degrees and the complete assembly is removed in the horizontal position by an overhead crane. The upenders have a 5’x 6’ base, 10’ high. The work access lifts provide 12’ of vertical travel and the operator is fully protected by guard railing and interlocked gates. A common control panel installed on the work access lift permits the operator to conveniently control both the upender and the lift from one central location.
