A medical facility required a maintenance lift to assist in servicing and repairing wheel chairs. Based upon the limited space available a prerequisite was that the lift be very low in the closed position. Achieving this low closed position minimized the length of the approach ramp that was required to allow access off and on the platform. The base design has a low height of only 4.3”, the platform size is 4’ wide, 6’ long with a lifting capacity of 4,000 lbs. The lower section of the platform is equipped with 4 sided electric toe sensors. During lowering the descent of the platform stops if the toe sensor contacts an obstruction. The selected power unit is 115/1/60, 1.5 hp, complete with a push button control station.
