Higher HP Power Units All models of dock lifts are provided with an external 1 HP power unit. The most common power units are rated at 1 HP, 5 HP, 7.5 and 10 HP; the higher HP rated lift motor drives a higher volume output pump increasing the lift speed. (more information)
Longer Hydraulic Hose As standard all dock lift remote power units are provided with 10’ of hydraulic hose. 1 horse power remote power units are available with up to 25’ of extra hydraulic hose length for a maximum overall hose length of 35’. 5, 7 ½ and 10 horse power remote power units are available with up to 40’ of extra hydraulic hose length for a maximum overall hose length of 50’.
Optional Bridge Plates As standard a 60” wide x 18” long one piece bridge plate is located on the truck end of the dock lift platform. Optional bridge plates are available in lengths up to 42” long and available in widths up to 96” wide, one piece or two pieces. (more information)
Bridge Plate Assist As standard all Pentalift dock lifts are provided with a manually operated hinged bridge plate on the truck end of the dock lift platform. The higher the dock lift capacity and longer or wider bridge plates increase the weight of the bridge plate. Pentalift offers 3 options to reduce or eliminate the physical effort required to operate the hinged bridge plate. (more information)
Hydraulic Powered Bridge Plate This design uses a hydraulic cylinder that is installed under the dock lift platform to both raise and lower the hydraulic operated hinged bridge plate. This option is push button controlled and eliminates any physical lifting or lowering of the bridge plate. (more information)
Toe Sensor Electric toe sensors consist of a 4 sided steel bar assembly that is suspended by chains just below the underside of the dock lift platform. As the platform is lowering should any object come in contact with the 4 sided steel bar assembly and cause the bar to rise slightly the lowering of the dock lift platform stops. (more information)
Up Travel Limit Switch The purpose of the Up Travel limit switch is to stop the vertical travel of the dock lift repetitively at the exact same level upper floor elevation. (more information)
Mid Travel Limit Switch A mid travel limit switch is typically used in a dock lift that is installed in a 3 sided pit. The mid travel limit switch is usually set to stop the platform at the upper floor elevation for smooth, level product transfer from the dock lift platform to the floor level. The mid travel limit switch does not impede the dock lift from rising above the upper floor level to service trucks that are higher than floor level.
Safety Striping Full Perimeter As standard a black/yellow diagonal safety stripe decal is applied on both sides of the dock lift platform. Optional 4 sided platform perimeter black/yellow diagonal safety striping is available to improve visibility.
Continuous Operating Bell & Light Installed on the power unit a continuous operating bell and light provide a visual and audible signal that the dock lift is in operation when either the Up or Down button is depressed.
Hard Stops for 14” Low Height This option is available and most commonly used when replacing a dock lift that was originally designed for a 14” deep pit. Deduct 2” of vertical travel if the dock lift is equipped with hard stops set at 14” low height.
Manual Lowering Valve Installed directly on the power unit the purpose of a manual lowering valve is for authorized personnel to have the means to lower the elevated dock lift platform in the event of a power failure. (more information)
Hydraulic Hinged Bridge Assist Platform installed hydraulic cylinder and power unit to raise the hinged bridge plate to the vertical stored position. (more information)
Plated Access Chains Single or double zinc plated access chains are optional on the rolling end of the dock lift platform. Access chains are permanently fixed to one guard rail and have a removable hook style connection to the opposite side guard rail.
Extreme Low Temperature Oil Available as an optional hydraulic fluid to suit cold weather applications where the temperature ranges from approximately -40 degrees F to 86 degree F. (-40 degree C to 30 degree C).
Biodegradable Oil Biodegradable mineral oil based formulation designed to minimize long-term environmental concerns in the unlikely event of an accidental oil spill.
Overhead Door Kit The overhead door kit prevents the dock attendant from accidentally attempting to raise the dock lift when the overhead door is in the closed/locked position on top of the lowered dock lift platform. (more information)
Automatic Hydraulic Roll Off Stop The automatic hydraulic roll off stop is a hinged barrier that is installed on one end of the platform that is designed to prevent a lift truck from accidentally driving off the elevated platform. (more information)
Optional Dock Lift Finishes As standard the dock lift is supplied with a grey spray on enamel paint finish. Optional spray on paint finishes is available in many different colors with an upgrade to an epoxy finish or to a Food Grade epoxy finish. Dock lifts are also available with a hot dip galvanized finish to prevent corrosion. (more information)
Interlocked Gates Platform access gate(s), single or double, that are electrically interlocked to the power unit to prevent the dock lift from operating unless the gate(s) is closed and securely latched.
Swing Out Night Stops Swing out night stops are typically supplied on a dock lift that is installed in a 3 sided pit installation. The swing out night stops are platform installed mechanical stops that are designed to keep the platform stored in the raised position for an extended period of time. (more information)
