Pentalift offers technical support for every product that we manufacture. The most important information to have ready before contacting Pentalift Technical Support is the 9-digit, numeric serial number of the equipment in question.

This 9-digit serial number provides the Pentalift Technical Support representative with access to the original equipment file. This file includes the following details:

  • Date of manufacture
  • Model number of the equipment
  • Listing of all primary components
  • Testing data
  • Hydraulic schematics or wiring diagrams
  • Other information relevant to the manufacture of the equipment

With the exception of dock seals and dock shelters, all equipment manufactured by Pentalift is assigned an individual 9-digit serial number when the original order is prepared. The 9-digit serial number is noted on a Pentalift specification label affixed to the equipment.

Where to Find the Pentalift Serial Number

  • Lift tables and dock lifts: The Pentalift specification label is located in a prominent area on the equipment and on the power unit electrical enclosure, where incoming power connects to the power unit.
  • Dock levelers: (Viewed from outside the building) The label is on the left side toe guard of the platform. On older models, it is inside the left toe guard near the front. On newer models, it is on the outside of the left toe guard, approximately mid-platform length.
  • Vehicle restraints: The label is located on the back plate. For a model RVR32 vehicle restraint, the label is found under the removable cover.

How to Report Issues Effectively

When contacting Pentalift Technical Support, provide:

  1. The Pentalift 9-digit serial number
  2. A clear, concise report of the problems you are experiencing
  3. Good quality site photos or a brief site video (if possible)

Note: Electrical troubleshooting is most effective when conducted by a properly trained technician with strong electrical knowledge. Ideally, wiring should be checked by a certified electrician before reaching out to Pentalift Technical Support. Many electrical issues can be quickly identified and resolved this way.
