The majority of lift table applications are stationary, the lift table is lagged into position and the electrical connection is hard wired. However there are applications that require a lift table with the ability to be moved from one work station to another.
One of the portability designs available to move a lift table from one work station to another is referred to as Semi-Portable. A semi portable design must be moved with the platform empty and in the fully lowered position.
On one end of the lift table frame are 2 load rollers; with the lift table frame lying flat on the floor the load rollers are positioned just above floor level. On the opposite end of the lift table frame a tongue is welded into position and a removable dolly handle is provided.
When it is time to move the lift table the platform must be fully lowered and empty; the dolly handle is manually positioned and lifts that end of the lift table frame clear of the floor transferring the lift table weight onto the 2 load rollers that are positioned on the opposite end of the frame.
Similar to moving a pallet truck the lift table is now ready to be moved to a different location. As the size and weight of the lift table increases the physical effort required to move the lift also increases. When the lift table has been moved to a different location the dolly handle is removed lowering the frame to floor level and the lift table is ready for use once again.
To maintain stability lift tables that are equipped with the optional semi portable design are to be operated only with an evenly distributed load on the platform.

The semi portable option is intended for low volume applications that occasionally require an unloaded lift table to be moved from one location to another.
