With a truck backed into position at the loading dock the dock shelter side curtains and head curtain brush up against the sides and top of the truck body creating the seal.
In position a trailer with open, rear hinged doors creates a vertical gap between the sides of the trailer body and the inside of the hinged open rear doors. This full height approximate 2” wide vertical gap on both sides of the trailer allows exterior cold air to blow into the loading dock area.
The optional dock shelter hinge gap seal effectively closes this 2” wide full height vertical gap on both sides of the trailer body saving energy costs at the loading dock.
The hinge gap seal consists of a section of covered foam that is sewn onto the vertical inside edge of the side curtains. With a truck backed into position the side curtain brushes up against the sides of the truck body and the foam hinge gap seal now wraps around and covers the 2” wide full height vertical gap between the side of the truck body and the inside of the hinged open rear doors reducing energy loss.
