A world market and technology leader in steel wire transformation and coatings approached Pentalift with a unique application. They required a solution to prevent steel coils from rolling off an upender when in operation. Originally founded in Europe, this market leader has customers in over 120 countries with products ranging from the automotive industry, to agriculture and consumer goods.

A ‘V’groove was designed to fit the upender, in order to accommodate the safe tilting of steel coils. Once they are placed vertically on the equipment by a fork truck, the upender would then tilt a full 90 degrees, allowing the coil to slip into its groove, preventing it from rolling off once in the horizontal position.

The upender was built to client specifications with a low height of 18 inches, tilt of 90 degrees and platform size of 54 inches square and 36 inches high. The upender came with a self-contained power unit of 1.5 horse power, 460V/3P/60Hz TENV
