Dock Leveler Standard Lengths
March 27, 2015, 3:24 pm - Why are dock levelers available in 6`, 8`and 10` platform lengths? Different length dock levelers offer different above/below ranges, and will impact the angle of decline or incline that the load will experience. Many loading dock areas are now being designed specifically to the height of the incoming trucks, for example over the highway trucks are pretty consistent in trailer floor height and a shorter platform works well. If the loading dock is to receive a wider range of incoming truck heights 8’ long platform lengths are still the most common in the industry. Inflatable Dock Seals
March 20, 2015, 3:29 pm - Conventional dock seals act as a gasket to seal the truck to the building. The compression force from the truck backing into position passes through the seals and into the building wall. Inflatable dock seals do not transfer any forces to the building walls. When the truck is backed into position the seal is then inflated, the side pads and head pad expand and form a gasket contoured to the shape of the trailer. This design not only eliminates any pressure on the building walls, it also contours to a wider range of trucks, even a truck that is not backed in square to the dock. Custom Warranty Requests
March 18, 2015, 5:26 pm - Pentalift's standard warranty states that product manufactured by Pentalift Equipment Corporation will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for normal use for one year. To properly validate the warranty, you need to complete a Product Registration Card. If a longer structural or hydraulic warranty period is required, then your Pentalift Sales Representative can quote a custom warranty for your consideration. Ensure that you add a couple of business days into your planned quote time to allow for this review process. If you would like more information on what is considered normal use, or have any questions about standard or extended warranties, do not hesitate to contact your Pentalift Sales Representative.
Roll Off Stop Dock Levelers
March 11, 2015, 5:27 pm - Looking for extra safety features in the loading dock area? The loading dock floor is usually about 4’ higher than the outside grade, and with busy lift truck traffic in this area, accidents can easily occur. Roll Off Stop Dock Levelers were designed specifically to address this situation. With the dock leveler in the closed or parked position, the hinged lip projects 8” above floor level providing an effective barrier to prevent the lift truck from driving off the elevated level to the ground below.
