Standard Lift Table Operator Controls
May 13, 2016, 8:52 am - By default, the standard operator controls for lift table applications are constant pressure buttons on handheld pushbutton pendants. Pressure controls require the operator to constantly depress the control button to either raise or lower the lift table. Once the pressure on the control button is released, the vertical movement stops. This helps to ensure that the operator is in complete control of the lift table at all times.Pentalift can offer the option of moving to press and release controls only if there will be no riders on the lift table at any time. What’s the Difference Between a Mechanical Dock Leveler and a Hydraulic Dock Leveler?
May 6, 2016, 8:41 am - That’s a very common question that is raised when decisions are made related to dock leveler selection. Mechanical dock levelers use a series of springs and levers to raise the platform and extend the lip assembly. The mechanical dock leveler is then “walked down” into position on the delivery truck bed. Hydraulic dock levelers, though structurally the same, use a push button control to operate the dock leveler. When the button is pushed, an electric motor starts and a hydraulic cylinder is used to raise the platform. A second hydraulic cylinder is used to extend the lip assembly. When the dock attendant releases the control button, the dock leveler automatically lowers into position on the truck bed. Mechanical dock levelers are more cost effective at time of purchase. Hydraulic dock levelers cost more to purchase, however require less maintenance and are more ergonomically accepted. Contact a Pentalift Sales Representative for more information.
