The superior engineering features of the
UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System make it a reliable and effective
restraint system for the most demanding of
applications. The UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System will cycle through a broad
operating range. It has an exceptional drawbar rating or holding strength of
40,000 lb. Unlike face mounted restraints, the UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System is mounted under the dock leveler making it a
non-impact restraint. Further, there are
no protruding components when it is in its stored position. The
advantages of this installation arrangement for
the UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System include:
1) Unobstructed dock face for easy snow/debris
removal
2) Restraint is protected from outside elements
3)
Trucks/trailers and restraint are not
damaged by impact
The Ultrahook effectively
eliminates momentum
range concerns which are typical with
other restraints. An audible alarm is installed on the UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System to signal the operator (alarm sounds and light flashes) should the truck/trailer creep forward during loading/unloading. The design of the UHR Series Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety
System permits floating with the suspension of the truck/trailer during loading/unloading operations.
Operation
takes place using proven reliable
electro-hydraulic activation.
As an option, the operation of the UHR Series
Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety System can be
interlocked to that of other dock equipment,
i.e. dock leveler, overhead door, inflatable
dock seal, etc.
A high visibility, two-way communication system
provides communication between the truck/trailer
driver and the operator. The UHR Series
Ultrahook Vehicle Restraint Safety System is
ideal for facilities where truck/trailer theft
is a concern because of its greater restraining
capacity and it is much more difficult to
disable. All Pentalift vehicle restraints are factory
tested before shipment. |

Operation |
|
When in the stored position, the exterior light
shows green (ready to receive a truck/trailer),
and the interior light on the control station
shows red (unsafe to load/unload). Once the
vehicle is in position, the operator turns the
restraint switch on the control station to
Engage. The exterior light immediately changes
to red (no truck/trailer departure). The arm
moves through its cycle until contact is made
with the truck/trailer's rear impact guard
(R.I.G.) causing the interior light on the
control station to change to green indicating
that contact with the R.I.G. has been made. When
no contact is made, an audible alarm sounds and
the switch on the control station must be turned
to Override (alternate chocking methods will
need to be used). When loading/unloading is
complete, the operator turns the switch to
Disengage. When fully stored, the exterior light
changes to green and the interior light on the
control station changes to red. The
truck/trailer can depart. |

Specifications |
|
Vehicle Restraint Safety System(s) will be model
UHR40 as manufactured by Pentalift Equipment
Corporation. Vehicle Restraint(s) will have a
restraining capacity of 40,000 lb and be
recessed completely behind the face of the
foundation wall with no protruding components
when stored. The Vehicle Restraint(s) operation
functions and interlock options will be
controlled using a Programmable Logic Controller
(PLC) in a wall mounted, push button control
station. The power unit will be a 1 Hp, pit
mounted, TENV unit installed under the dock
leveler. The power supply will be ____/__/___.
Vehicle Restraint(s) will have a full float
capability to accommodate the movement of the
truck/trailer suspension. Vehicle Restraint(s)
will be supplied with a high visibility, two-way
communication system. Internally, there will be
a three light display (red/amber/green) and an
instruction sign. Dual image caution signs and
LED Style exterior deluxe lights (red/green)
will be supplied for external installation.
Vehicle Restraint(s) will have an audible alarm
to notify the operator of truck/trailer creep
and/or non-engagement of the R.I.G. Vehicle
Restraint(s) will have Pentalift gray finish
with yellow arm. |
