Description

Pentalift MU Series Ultima Mechanical Dock Levelers are designed to provide superior product value through prolonged, trouble-free performance. Its semi-automatic operation requires no manual lifting. Pentalift MU Series Ultima Mechanical Dock Levelers are operated by a simple pull chain release at the rear of the deck. All Pentalift dock levelers are factory tested before shipping.

Operation
When the operator pulls the release ring located at the rear of the deck, the deck rises to its full height. During the upward deck motion, the lip automatically extends into position. The operator then "walks" the deck down until the extended lip rests on the truck/trailer bed. The deck floats over the entire operating range to accommodate the movement of the truck/trailer suspension. All Pentalift MU Series Ultima Mechanical Dock Levelers use the patented Easy-Float hold-down assembly. After truck/trailer departure, the lip automatically retracts behind the dock bumpers.

Structural Features

	Structural “I" beams. Structural "I" beams allow Pentalift to create and build the deck support with optimal strength-to-weight ratio for a dock leveler. Utilizing six (6) beams assures an even load distribution and maximum deck support.
	Central deck beam for added support of three-wheeled vehicles.
	Full-width, structural channel tailboard and one-piece, full-width rear hinge complete with heavy steel gussets. Pentalift’s unique, welded assembly provides a box section for superior support.
	Rear frame assembly features eight points of even support for the full-width rear hinge.
	Heavy-duty front frame provides full-width, cross-traffic support and superior building aesthetics.
	Night lock prevents unauthorized entry when overhead door is locked on top of dock leveler.

Operating Features

	Positive lip lock assembly maintains extension of the lip, then automatically retracts once the truck departs. Lip is yieldable if contacted in extended position during truck/trailer positioning.
	Lip-assist spring assembly counterbalances the weight of lip for smoother extension and retraction.
	Computer optimized cam profile reduces “walkdown” forces.
	Mechanical safety legs, with below level center, limit platform freefall in the event of premature truck/trailer departure.
	Full-range telescopic toe protection assures total dock attendant safety. Section features a “bend relief” to increase strength.
	Fixed rear hinge remains flush with rear of the pit to eliminate potential pinch points and surface obstruction. Design allows 4” of lateral deck compensation to accommodate canted truck/trailer beds.
	Heavy-duty, adjustable lift springs.
	Safe, easy maintenance with only three adjustment points, conveniently located at the front of the leveler, eliminate the need to enter the pit.

Balanced Design for Structural Harmony

Other dock leveler manufacturers boast of individual components as though they were unrelated to each other in strength. Little thought is given to the overall structural balance of the combined load-bearing components.
Many dock leveler manufacturers fail to realize that, in many respects, the combination of structural components is similar to a chain and a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
Through the use of state-of-the-art finite element analysis software, Pentalift components are designed and sized to maintain structural balance and harmony throughout, assuring maximum dock leveler life by eliminating any weak links.

Easy Float Hold-down Assembly (click for details)

The Easy-Float hold-down assembly ensures stress-free operation. The Easy-Float hold-down assembly can be released in any position with a minimal release force of 8 lb. Contact between the lip and truck/trailer bed is guaranteed since the Easy-Float hold-down automatically compensates for the up and down movement of the truck/trailer suspension.

Specifications

Mechanical Dock Leveler(s) to be Pentalift model MU__________________ manufactured by Pentalift Equipment Corporation. Nominal deck size of _____' wide x _____' long with a rated capacity of _____lb. The nominal lip length will be 16". Mechanical Dock Leveler(s) to be semi-automatic with no manual lifting required. The hold-down assembly is to be the Easy-Float design requiring a minimal release force of only 8 lb. The Easy-Float hold-down assembly is to maintain lip contact with the truck/trailer bed by allowing the leveler to float with the suspension of the truck/trailer. A high strength, braided nylon strap is to be used to connect the deck and frame assemblies and to absorb shock loads. All adjustments are to be conveniently located at the front of the Mechanical Dock Leveler(s). The lip is to retract if impacted during truck/trailer positioning. The lip hinge is to be welded to a high tensile headboard. The rear hinge is to be a full width, fixed style. The deck support is provided by 6" structural "I" beams. The deck design shall provide 4" of lateral deck compensation for canted truck/trailer beds. Mechanical Dock Leveler(s) to be equipped with operating range toe guards, night lock and a maintenance stand. Two molded rubber bumpers will be provided. Mechanical Dock Leveler(s) to have Pentalift gray finish.
