What capacity ranges are Lift Tables available in?
What is Low Height?
Low Height refers to the dimension from the floor to the top of the Lift Table deck in the closed, fully lowered position.
What is Lift?
Lift, or travel, refers to the amount of vertical movement available as the Lift Table is raised from the low height to the fully raised position.
What is Raised Height?
Raised Height is the combination, or sum, of the Low Height and Lift, which provides the distance from the floor to the top of the Lift Table deck in the fully raised position.
What does "uniformly distributed load" mean?
A uniformly distributed load refers to the positioning of the product on the Lift Table deck. With a uniformly distributed load the product is evenly “spread” or distributed over the entire deck area.
How many cycles per hour will a Lift Table operate?
Pentalift can design and Engineer Lift Tables that will operate virtually non stop. However, standard products, built for intermittent use, are designed to operate at 8 full load, complete cycles per hour.
What is the difference between portable and semi portable Lift Tables?
A Portable Lift Table is designed to be moved when fully loaded. A Semi-Portable Lift Table is not designed to be moved with a load on the deck. Once the Semi-Portable unit is in position, the dolly handle is removed and the table is ready to load.
What does "constant pressure" control mean?
Constant Pressure control requires the operator to “constantly” depress the control button to either raise or lower the lift table. Once the pressure on the control button is released, the vertical movement stops.
What is a Velocity Fuse, and how does it work?
A Velocity Fuse is a safety device that “locks” the downward travel in a free-fall situation due to a hydraulic system failure other than on the cylinders of the lift table. The Velocity Fuse senses the flow rate of hydraulic fluid out of the cylinder and “locks” if it exceeds the allowable rate. For lighter loads a flow rate high enough to “lock” may not develop. In these cases the downward travel will be at a controlled speed.
How do I increase the speed of my Lift Table?
To increase the lift speed, a larger pump and motor assembly (powerpack) is required. The larger the pump and motor assembly will increase the volume of hydraulic oil being pumped to the cylinders, thereby increasing the lift speed.
What does "side load" mean?
A side load refers to a load that is positioned at the “edge” of the deck, 90 degrees relative to the length to the scissor assemblies. The side load capacity is typically 50% of the load capacity.
Can people work on a Lift Table?
Pentalift Lift Tables can be manufactured to be used as personnel work platforms. Based upon the application, safety products such as guardrails, gates, anti-slip deck, etc are incorporated into the design.
Where would I use a Pneumatic Lift Table?
Pneumatic Lift Tables are often used in applications with an existing, readily available air supply. They are also used in applications where standard electrical equipment is a concern such as paint shops and other hazardous areas.
Where would I use a Hydraulic Lift Table?
Hydraulic Lift Tables provide the widest range of selection, operation and performance available. Hydraulic Lift Tables offer precise positioning of almost any weight with a wide range of platform sizes and vertical travel available.
What is a Tandem Design Lift Table and where would it used?
A tandem design Lift Table incorporates two scissor leg sets with a common deck and frame assembly. The tandem design often incorporates a long deck to provide stability for longer than usual loads.
What is a Double Scissor Lift Table and where would it used?
A double scissor Lift Table has two scissor leg sets “stacked” one on top of each other. This design provides approximately double the vertical lift of a single scissor Lift Table with the equivalent length frame.
What does "Self-Leveling" Lift Table mean?
A self-leveling Lift Table (Pentaloader) automatically adjusts in height as product is either added or removed. A Self-Leveling table maintains the loading level at the ergonomically correct position for the operator during the loading/off loading process. This type of device does not require an external power source.
How do I correctly select the paint type?
As standard Pentalift uses Enamel paint as a finish coat. This finish is acceptable in the majority of manufacturing and warehouse environments. In a more demanding environment, an Epoxy finish coat, a galvanized finish or in some cases Stainless Steel may best suit the application.
If a Lift Table is being installed in a Pit, what safety features are required?
If a Lift Table is installed into a pre-formed pit, a specific design for personnel protection must be provided. The two most common methods to provide this protection are beveled toe guards or sensor bars (when contacted, stop the downward descent of the deck assembly).
Can the Lift Table be integrated, or automated to work with other equipment?
Many Pentalift Lift Tables have been successfully integrated into various operating systems. Out Engineering Department will assist in designing and providing the necessary sensors, PLC’s, connections etc. required to integrate a complete operating system.
What capacity ranges are Lift Tables available in?
Pentalift Pre-Engineered (Standard Price List) Lift Tables are available with capacities ranging from 500 lbs. to 40,000 lbs. Pentalift also offers a High Capacity series of Lift Tables with capacities ranging up to 120,000 lbs. Higher capacities are available to suit a wide range of applications.
