Lift tables will incorporate multiple stage designs, stacking scissor legs on top of each other, to obtain a higher lift without increasing the foot print size of the lift table on the floor.Triple Scissor Lift Table The length of the scissor legs being used determines how high the lift can travel. The longer the legs, the higher it will travel. Your typical hand scissors will open much less than hand held hedge trimmers because of the length of the individual scissor…it’s the same principle. In the lift table business, the rule of thumb is that a single scissor lift table will lift about 2/3 of the scissor leg length, and then it is at maximum rotation. For example a 3’ long scissor leg will lift 2’, a 6’ long scissor leg will lift 4’ etc. Following the same logic, if a customer wants to lift their load 10’ then the associated scissor leg would need to be about 15’ long using a single scissor design, and this translates into significant floor space. If you “stacked” 2 sets of scissor legs that lift 5’ each the overall length would be in the range of 8’, if you “stacked” 3 sets of scissor legs that lift 4’ each the overall length would be in the range of 6’ long. Stacking scissor legs is a floor space saver. Contact your Pentalift Sales Representative for more information.
