This is to discourage personnel entry beneath the table and to prevent debris from collecting under the equipment. The most common customer choice is a set of Accordion Bellows. Accordion Bellows are a steel, reinforced vinyl barrier which expands and contracts with the movement of the table. Accordion Bellows work well when the travel does not exceed 10ft. Once the lift table needs to travel greater than 120”, the Accordion Bellows become too heavy to support their own weight, and will begin to prematurely tear at the seams and connection points. June 24, 2016, 2:36 pm - In a word, many. As standard, most Dock Lift manufacturers offer a hand held push button control with an up and down button. The push button is attached to the power unit by an electrical cord. The control cord can vary in length.Retractable coil cords are very common. They are often 5’ long retracted and stretch up to 20’ long extended, providing the operator with increased mobility. Controls can be installed on a post on the platform or in a wall-installed control panel. The specific application dictates what is best. May 26, 2016, 4:05 pm - Hydraulic Dock Levelers use a push button control to operate the dock leveler. When the button is pushed, an electric motor starts and a hydraulic cylinder is used to raise the platform. A second hydraulic cylinder extends the lip assembly. When the dock attendant releases the control button, the dock leveler automatically lowers into position on the truck bed. Air Powered Dock Levelers, though structurally the same, use a push button control station to operate a 115/1/60 pneumatic blower to inflate an air bladder. This in turn, raises the dock leveler platform. A mechanical assembly operates the hinged lip. Once the lip is actuated and fully extended, the dock attendant releases the control button and the dock leveler automatically lowers into position on the truck bed.Contact a Pentalift Sales Representative for more information.
