What are the benefits of a PentaFlow Cylinder?

Most manufactures hydraulic lift cylinders design dead end at maximum extension which can cause internal damage to the cylinder. Pentalift developed the PentaFlow hydraulic lift cylinder that removes dead ending. An internal mechanical valve opens at full extension and oil is routed back to the reservoir without pressure build up. Another advantage of the PentaFlow cylinder is the ability to purge/bleed air from the hydraulic system automatically. When the lift cylinder reaches full extension keep the up button depressed this purges the hydraulic system, any trapped air is routed to the reservoir out of the hydraulic lines.

Why would an application require a remote power unit instead of a self-contained power unit?

A self-contained power unit is a power unit that is attached or underneath the lift table making the power unit and the lift table one piece of equipment. A remote power unit is detached from the equipment making it free from the equipment itself. The reason a company would choose to go with a remote power unit instead of a self-contained power unit is for two main reasons, the application or the size of the power unit itself. Some applications require their equipment to have a higher HP power unit which is too big to have attached or under the lift itself. Another reason a power unit may be remote is because the application requires the power unit to be away from the equipment. For example in a wash down application the power unit should be far away from the lift table to prevent water damage to the power unit.

What are the safety precautions that should be taken when doing maintenance on a lift table?

When performing maintenance on a lift table all maintenance must be done by trained personnel and all electrical work is suggested to be performed by an electrician. Nobody should go under the lift table unless properly supported by the lift table’s maintenance stand. Performing maintenance on a lift table should never be done with any sort of load on platform because the maintenance stand of the lift table is only designed to withstand the table’s weight without a load on platform. To increase safety and ease of maintenance, a central lubrication option can be acquired at time of purchase to lubricate leg rollers, leg pivot points, and cylinder points at a point of easy access.
